Borrow from an ever-growing number of things from Gardening and DIY through to Astronomy!

We have a great collection of things you can borrow, check out or catalogue and reserve your items for pick-up

Use

Keep the items for 7 days

Return

Return the item on or before your loan time ends so others can then borrow the item. Please check our opening hours. You can also extend the borrow if its available and keep it for another 7 days!

Donate

At the Library of Stuff, we are happy to accept donations, but it depends on the item and if there is a demand, we have a list of items we think would be great for the library. We would also accept financial donations to keep the project alive please contact info@libraryofstuff.co.uk if you can help or visit our Facebook page and send a message.

When things go wrong

This organisation is here to support the community if you borrow something and it gets damaged or fails we will work with you to put it right including repairing the item if possible, we will also work with you to decide if it was user error or just a fault. The LOS is a brilliant idea. It gives everyone the opportunity to borrow and use things which would be expensive to buy and sometimes bulky to store but are only used a few times a year. The first item I borrowed was a really professional carpet cleaner which worked brilliantly and made dirty carpets look like new. Alan was great at explaining how it worked and I am planning to borrow it again in a few months time. I would rate LOS as excellent - 5 Stars

Hull Library of Stuff is a fantastic idea. Registration online is extremely easy and the £1 years membership is a real bargain. Once registered reserving items through the catalogue couldn’t be easier selecting the dates you would like from the calendar. The collection service was quick and simple as was the return. At collect I was shown how to use the equipment I had borrowed. I borrowed the lighting rig and sound system for charity event. The equipment was so easy to use and fantastic for discos, children’s or adult parties/events. Thank you for the excellent customer service, I will be borrowing more items in the future.

Great idea, not heard of this on the South Bank so Hull would be the nearest opportunity

I think this is a great idea. I once heard of a baking tin library that had all those odd-shaped baking tins that you would only ever use once like heart-shaped or tree-shaped etc. I think they would be a nice addition maybe (not sure if they already are)
